  1. What is iMovicha?

    iMovicha is a software application that allows users to make voice calls and video calls over the Internet. Additional features include instant messaging, audio and video calls and conferencing. iMovicha supports multiple operating systems like Windows mobile, Symbian, iPhone 3.0 & above, Android, Macintosh, Windows XP and Windows vista.

  2. What does iMovicha mean?

    iMovicha means Mobile Video Chat.

  3. What is so unique about iMovicha?

    iMovicha supports multiple operating systems in mobile and laptop platforms. Video calls can either be mobile-to-mobile or laptop-to-mobile or laptop-to-laptop.

  4. How do I get it?

    Go to movicha.com and purchase a subscription for the desired platform(). Then, download iMovicha from the respective store( For ex : iphone from app store, Symbian from OVI store etc) .Subscription cost is based on the Operating system purchased.

  5. How much does iMovicha cost?

    Cost of iMovicha is based on the operating system purchased. On purchasing a mobile platform (Ex: iPhone) user is provided a free download of either MAC iMovicha or Windows iMovicha.

  6. Do you accept credit card?

    Yes, we do accept Visa / Delta / Electron /MasterCard / Eurocard /PayPal Top Up Card /Maestro /Solo /American Express credit cards. Debit cards (also known as bank cards) are accepted if they have a Visa or MasterCard logo.

  7. Do I pay a one-time fee or is a subscription required?

    Expiry date for the products purchased at movicha.com is one year from the date of user id creation.

  8. Do I simply go to movicha.com and subscribe in order to get started?

    Yes, you can simply go to movicha.com, purchase a subscription and download iMovicha from the respective store.

  9. If I already have an iMovicha account on my PC, do I need another one for my other devices (mobile, Mac, etc)?

    Subscription can be purchased only for mobile platforms. When you purchase a mobile platform, you get a free download of desktop/laptop iMovicha. You can login to the purchased mobile platform and desktop/laptop platform with the same id. To login to a different device you have to purchase subscription for the respective device. You can login to the device either by adding the MEID of the device to the existing user id or by creating a new user id.

  10. Can I change the skin or background of my screen?

    Currently, skin or background of iMovicha screen cannot be changed.

  11. How do I change my profile (name, email address, etc)?

    Currently, you have no option to update your profile.

  12. How do I change my User ID?

    You have an option to choose the User ID while purchasing the subscription. This User ID cannot be changed later.

  13. How do I change my password?

    Password can be changed by logging into movicha.com and clicking on the Change Password link.

  14. What if I forgot my User ID or password?

    Password can be reset by clicking on Forgot password link which is shown on clicking My Account option on the Movicha portal (movicha.com).

  15. What are the features available on Movicha?

    Presence, Contact management, IM, Audio call, Video call on all platforms. In addition to these windows desktop and MAC also supports audio and video conference.

  16. What is the difference between an audio call and a video call?

    During audio call, the call participants can hear each other. During video call , the call participants can see each other in addition to hearing each other.

  17. Can I switch back and forth between an audio call and a video call?

    User has the option to add video to an audio call by clicking on faq_icon1 in the call view. Video can be removed from a call by clicking on faq_icon2 in the video call view.

  18. Can I have multiple video calls at the same time?

    Multiple video calls at the same time are not supported by Movicha.

  19. Is it possible to make conference video calls?

    Yes, video conference from/to the Windows and Macintosh laptop/desktop versions.

  20. Is it possible to make conference audio calls?

    Yes, audio conference from/to the Windows and Macintosh Laptop/Desktop versions.

  21. Can I add another contact to a video conference that is already in progress?

    Contact cannot be added to a Video Conference when the conference is in progress.

  22. Can I add another Contact to an audio conference call that is already in progress?

    Contact cannot be added to an audio Conference when the conference is in progress.

  23. Can I add another contact to an audio or video call that is already in progress?

    Contact can be added to an ongoing audio call by clicking on the Add Party button in the dial pad of the call window. Contact cannot be added to an ongoing Video call.

  24. What happens when someone sends me an instant message while I am in a call?

    In case of mobile, you will be shown an alert that you have a message from Contact1. Do you want to view? Now or Later. If you choose Later, you will still remain in the call view and message will be received in the background. If you choose Now you will be taken to the IM view immediately and the call continues.

  25. How can I get back to a video call after sending an instant message?

    Ongoing call and active IM sessions will be listed under a group Active session on the main contact window. You can click on the video call listed under the group and get back to video call.

  26. Is it possible to have a video call when my camera is on the opposite side of my phone’s screen?

    Yes, you can have a video call when your camera is on the opposite side of your phone’s screen. iMovicha selects front camera by default while making a video call. But, when there is no front camera, iMovicha selects the rear camera automatically.

  27. How come I can’t delete some of the Groups in my Contacts list?

    Groups like Friends, Family and Other are reserved groups in iMovicha. These groups cannot be deleted or renamed.

  28. Can I dial a phone number using iMovicha?

    iMovicha does not support PSTN calls at this time.

  29. Can I use my own ringtones for incoming calls?

    iMovicha does not support customizing ring tones currently.

  30. I can hear the other person on the call, but he cannot hear me. What should I do?

    Check the volume of microphone in your desktop/mobile and volume of other person’s speaker. Also, check if you have pressed mute button on the call window by mistake.

  31. The other person on the call can hear me, but I cannot hear him. What should I do?

    Check the volume of microphone in other person’s desktop/mobile and volume of your speaker. Also, check if the other person has pressed mute button on the call window by mistake.

  32. I can hear the other person in a video call, but I cannot see her. What should I do?

    Check if the other person’s camera is working properly. Also check if the other person’s camera is not being used by any other applications.

  33. I have a ton of Contacts. Is there any way to condense my list so that the screen doesn’t look too cluttered?

    You can choose to view only the online contacts by choosing Preference > Hide offline contacts.

  34. Can I switch between 3G and WiFi while I am in the middle of an iMovicha session?

    No.You will be logged out of iMovicha automatically when the network becomes unavailable.

  35. Does iMovicha supports 3G or WiFi?

    iMovicha supports both 3G and WiFi.

  36. Is there any incentive for me to invite a friend or family member to iMovicha?

  37. Will a video call use up more of my power than an audio call in iMovicha?

    Yes, the video call will use up more power than an audio call.

  38. How can I block someone from disturbing me?

    You can block a contact from disturbing you by selecting the contact and clicking on faq_icon3. This will always show you in offline status to the blocked contact and hence restricts him from making calls and/or initiating IMs with you.

  39. Can I use iMovicha with my Bluetooth headset?

    Support for Bluetooth will be available in future.

  40. How do I fix echo problem?

    Use an external headset to fix this problem.

  41. How many audio calls can I have at once?

    Mobile platforms support only one audio call at a time whereas desktop/laptop supports two calls at a time.

  42. Can I make myself invisible while on iMovicha?

    You can make yourself invisible by changing your presence to Appear offline.

  43. I sent an audio/video conference request to some contacts, but not all of them are present in the conference call?

    The contacts not on the call could have rejected the call or could have gone offline or the call could have timed out on the receiver’s side.

  44. There is no response to my IM, why is this happening?

    The receiver has chosen to ignore the IM by choosing to view it later or cannot answer to the IM as he is busy elsewhere.

  45. How do I adjust my camera’s settings?

    On your desktop/laptop iMovicha client, you can click on Preferences > Camera, select the desired device and then click on Test Camera to check if the selected camera working. If the video captured by the camera is shown, the selected device is working. If not, select a different device.

  46. How do I adjust my audio settings?

    Speaker:
    On your desktop/laptop iMovicha client, you can click on Preferences > speaker, select the desired device, set the required volume and then click on Play sound to check if the selected device is working. If the music plays the selected speaker is working. If not, select a different device.

    Microphone:

    On your desktop/laptop iMovicha client, you can click on Preferences > Microphone, select the desired device, set the required volume and then click on Test Microphone to check if the selected device is working. If the indicator goes to the yellow area, the selected microphone is working. If not, select a different device.

  47. Why do/dont I hear a noise on an incoming IM?

    Go to preferences and select play/do not play a sound when IM is arrived

  48. What do I do when get Unable to sign in message?

    Please check to see if you are connected to either wifi or 3G data network. You can also verify this by browsing some website.

  49. Can I take a snapshot of the video in the mobile/desktop platforms?

    Right now, taking a snapshot of a video call is not supported.

  50. Can I send files to my buddies?

    Sending files to your buddies is not yet supported.

iPhone

  1. What is iphone?

    The iPhone is an Internet and multimedia enabled smartphone designed and marketed by Apple Inc.

  2. What happens if someone tries to call my mobile phone number while I am using iMovicha?

    As soon as you accept the call in iPhone, you will be signed out iMovicha. iMovicha application is launched automatically after the call ends.

  3. I tried to place a video call to a friend who was using an iPhone. How come he can see me, but I cannot see him?

    IPhone OS does not support video capturing at present. Hence iPhone user can see the incoming video but cannot send/transmit the self video.

  4. How can I place calls on my iPod Touch if it does not have a microphone?

    You can use an external headset with microphone to place calls from iPod Touch.

    Symbian OS is an open source operating system for mobile phones primarily used on Nokia advanced or data enabled smart phones.

    Right now Android supports receive only video.

  4. How to install Movicha on Sprint 4G EVO Device?

    Download the Movicha App to your PC by clicking on the "Click here to downoad Movicha for Sprint 4G EVO Device" on the Android section of Movicha. Ensure you have an installer available on the Device. Then simply copy the downloaded file onto your device and follow the device installers instructions..
